Used to be Schmidt truffles, but I can't find them here anymore. So now, my absolute favorite are home-made. There's two; one is my grandmother's recipe for corn starch frosting, which is more of a thick fudge-pudding substance.

The other is similar, but lacks the corn starch. Here's the recipe for that one - serves 1.

Melt 3 tablespoons of butter in a small saucepot.
Break up 1 square of Baker's unsweetened baking chocolate, toss those into the melted butter and stir constantly while it melts.
Once it's melted, stir in a palmful of confectioner's sugar, a little at a time, until it's absorbed into the chocolate butter.

Add more sugar to taste, eat with the wooden stirring spoon right out of the pot.

Me too! I am definitely satisfied with these two, low brow thought they may be. And while I do say the darker the better, I had a bar from Trader Joe's that was very high in cocoa and I found it a little bitter....

Belgian chocolate has that smooth, mild taste I love. I'll eat Hershey's, but I find it just a tad bitter.

I'm not a huge chocolate freak...I'll eat it, but I'm not a connoisseur.

The best tasting to me is probably Lindt, Dove, Ghirardelli...the darker the better. I tend to like it with contrasting flavors mixed in, versus straight. Dark chocolate squares with sea salt added, cayenne pepper added, pomegranate seeds added, etc.

I like bittersweet dark chocolate of any kind. If I'm eating milk chocolate, I'd prefer goodies from any of the chocolatiers in my hometown of Erie, Pa.: Pulakos, Stefanelli's, or Romolo. Yum.

Lindt or any Swiss chocolate, I've never had a bad one. All I can find around here is Lindt, which has become popular. Their coconut white is awesome (yeah I know white isn't really chocolate) and their truffles are too.

When I was a little kid, my Swiss relatives used to send boxes full of a large variety of chocolates - so many different fillings! I liked the fruit fillings and hated the coffee-flavored fillings, the liquor-filled ones, and the Toblerone triangles . ..... now I think I would prefer the coffee chocolates.
