Pancakes and Syrup (ingredients, butter, French, sausage)

Do you have a favorite type of syrup or pancake?

I like very traditional. Plain. Buttermilk syrup. I don't know what the difference is between that and maple. But I like it a lot better than maple.

buttermilk or pancakes with banannas. Regular pancake syrup.I like my pancakes drowning in syrup. DH like them with butter and a little syrup.

Its more about the butter than the syrup.

Real maple syrup. I don't care for the maple-flavored stuff. Read the ingredients on the fake stuff.......artificially flavoring, etc. I always prefer real over imitation.

Actually, I like pancakes and french toast with strawberry jam on them. And plenty of butter, of course.

I can't even stand the smell of syrup. How anybody can get it past their lips is beyond me.

I have posted my pancake video on here before and won't put it up again, but an important part of good pancakes is to pour the batter into a pool of butter in a pan hot enough that it is just turning brown. Then a big dollop on the pancake when done. Honey or maple syrup, sausage grease and butter make the pancake perfect.

I also prefer pancakes (or waffles) in the evening, rather than for breakfast.

Yes, I agree as well about the butter's importance. Butter is essential.
