OKAY

Let me start this with the best for making soups that use a ham taste

A local store put it on CLOSE OUT and we bought it all up - hope to find more soon

It's called

Orrington Farms Ham Flavored Soup Base and Food Seasoning

This stuff has the best ham flavor of any we ever had in house - use it in bean, split pea, potato soups and in sausage gravy - the taste pops so nice.

Even tried it in turkey stuffing - real nice!

Nothing else will do for us!

HEADS UP: That stuff they call Cooking Cream (for flavoring your cooking) is an excellent and less expensive veggie, chip, and cracker dip!

I have used the philly cooking cream, very good on pasta. My only cncern with the ham flavoring is the salt. It must be loaded in salt no?

the salt is a LOT LESS noticeable of a taste and it's lower sodium than Knorr's Chicken flavor bouillon in comparison by 2%

Most of the Christmas and Thanksgiving Day spiral cut bone in hams are being clearanced out right now. $98 cents a pound in the lowest I've seen. At that price buy a 5-10 pound ham and flavor your soup with the real stuff.

I agree, Knorr's chicken bouillon has 25% more salt.

You can Google this Orrington Farms Ham Flavored Soup Base and Food Seasoning (even pops up with an Amazon link) - not sure a link is allowed even if its nothing I am selling but I will try ...

Orrington Farms® All Natural Ham Flavored Granular Base (Makes 56 Cups) is (I think) the actual company that has it (shipping is murder but the taste is awesome!)
