And maybe its why men have a higher rate of colorectal cancer compared to women across the board of all races?

I've never heard this. Can you tell me more? My husband loves vegetables, probably more than me.

Do they ? I hadn't noticed. Most men I know love their veggies and fruits. I do know the occasional man who thinks potato chips and vodka are a vegetable food group but on the whole I think the average bloke is no more adverse to a bit of broccoli or carrots than the average gal .
Though from experience many men do seem to have a strange distrust of salads !

Honestly, I think men think about their health less than women do. For whatever reason (less vain, less inclined to ask for help with anything, etc). I think people who eat a lot of veggies are usually doing so consciously for health reasons.

From the CDC the data is clear:

Of course not all men hate veggies and fruit, but many men do or simply don't eat enough.
Bouts of diverticulitis and non-hereditary colon cancer would most likely be much less prevalent if people simply ate enough fiber in their diet from vegetables and fruit.

Not here. I even like most veggies in their raw state or slightly steamed.
As for fruit. Nothing better for desert then a nice juicy blood orange.
I have been called healthy as horse by my Doc. I always though it was because of my size.

I agree, I know more men than women who have a major aversion to veggies. They're the ones who tend to stick to chicken fingers and french fries and won't even taste a dish that has spinach in it.
I always find these people perplexing because I've always considered myself a picky eater, but I have no problem trying just about any new fruit or vegetable that comes my way.

I don't have an aversion to them. I love vegetables and I eat loads of them. Fruit too, just not as much as veggies. If I don't have vegetables with lunch and dinner, the meal isn't complete.
Edit: I may not be typical, though. Never been much of a meat and potatoes type of guy.
