now I have tried that and I really don't like the texture, it is very different, so is the veggie sausage, we tried to adjust but just couldn't. i guess for non meat eaters it is acceptable but not for me...The funny thing is, I do enjoy veggie burgers once in awhile, but none of the other veggie substitutes for meat.

I like "real" bacon that's made from pork.

Make it real bacon, thick sliced, brown sugar cured and smoke with real hickory wood.

Bacon is the #1 reason why I stopped being a vegetarian. Pork or bust.

Many of these types of products are soybean based and marketed to heart patients on a low fat, low cholesterol, low salt diet.

When it comes to bacon, it has to be pork. It just brings out the real flavor as it's well-smoked.

And turkey is for Thanksgiving, dangit!

oh I know. We went thought this years ago when hubby had a stint put in. That was over 20 years ago, I will add. We did the soy meat sausage, etc, but I didn't like it then and still don't. For those who can eat it and enjoy it or live with it as a substitute, more power to them. I was just giving my opinion.
