Who else uses Old Bay seafood seasoning? (shrimp, calories, French)

Of course I do, I live in Baltimore.


Aside from use on crabs and shrimp, I like to add it to the flour for coating food for frying.


Who else uses Old Bay, particularly if you're outside of the Chesapeake Tidewater area, and what do you use it on?

Use it frequently. I like to add it to the pasta water when I have a dish where it would be consistent. Certainly, anything with shrimp or crab in it, but not limited to those.

I used it a lot when living in Philly and have seen it gain popularity out west ...... it's funny now how I have people coming up to me talking about how they love Old Bay, like a revelation

I used to be semi-addicted to Utz Crab Chips and would frequently coat french fries in old bay ...... i'd say those are my most common non-seafood uses

I use it quite often in red beans & rice and many casseroles I make.

I am nervous when I run out of it. It's somewhat difficult to find in Los Angeles.

I can find the bootleg "Chesapeake Bay Seasoning" easily , but Old Bay is somehow scarce.

I do have a can of it in my spice cabinet now.

Maybe I'm going to have to get some. I've never used it, but I've seen it in recipes, and either left it out or used some Emeril's Fish Rub instead. I need to expand my seafood recipes...

Started using it on seafood in VA (Bushell of crabs was $16 THEN) now use it up here in New England for shrimp. It is the best!
