I picked up a bunch of gai lan, or Chinese broccoli, a couple days ago. When I saw it at the market, I thought it was a bunch of hardy greens similar to kale, and I bought it on a whim to add to stir fry. When I unbundled it to wash and chop, I saw that the inner stalks were like broccolini but with big, dark green leaves. I chopped the leafy stems for stir fry on Thursday, and blanched and sauteed the broccoli-like stalks tonight. So good!
A fajita (chicken). I discovered that it is NOT the same thing as a burrito (which I never cared for) but the sauteed chicken in it was delicious (and it didn't contain refried beans). I really don't like the tortilla wrap, though - it's flimsy and awkward.
Holy cow...no idea. What a fun thread. Can't wait to see what people post. Sorry I couldn't add. I had the fortune of growing up overseas, traveling everywhere, and have a very adventurous set of foodie parents.
