I love drinking milk by itself. I usually buy a gallon of 2%. It's the perfect beverage for such treats as cake and cookies. And of course, I pour it on my cereal for breakfast.
^ Clearly elnina I was referring to the practice of drinking milk on it's own. Plenty of people drink milk, but many drink it enough with other stuff that they don't actually drink it by itself unflavoured.
Yes, and I was referring to drinking milk just by itself. Plain. By glass or cup. Nothing with it. Nothing in it.
People in other countries are doing it too.

Yes I just have a feeling it's not so prevalent here.
to me there is nothing worse than warm milk. In fact I've been known to put ice in a glass of milk if it's not cold enough. I drink about 8 oz every morning with my breakfast and sometimes have a swig right before bed---- right out of the carton--sshhhhh don't tell anyone.
my kids sometimes have milk in the morning and always have it at school for lunch and at supper we all drink cold water.
What is this almond milk you speak of? Sounds intriguing and delicious! I wish they had that here. Is it sweet at all?
I saw that Fontucky already answered this, but here's even more info.
Go the vegetarian section of your local grocer (hopefully they have one, small grocers many not), and you'll likely find:
- almond milk,
- coconut milk,
- rice milk,
- soy milk, etc.
All in different flavors, too!:
- original,
- vanilla (which is always sweeter than original),
- chocolate, etc.
Keep in mind that each of the above (almond, coconut, etc) tastes different, as does each brand within each type of milk.
So if you try one and don't like it, try another. There are so many to try that you are sure to find one you like.
I find that newbies seem to have the best results with Original Rice Milk, as it seems to be the most bland, and therefore, more palatable.
Also, if you really want to know what's going into your milk, try your hand at making fresh almond milk; it's pretty easy. Just:
Soak >
Blend >
Squeeze >
Drink!
I always see this on American TV etc. People drinking milk by itself (usually when somebody is reprimanded from drinking straight out of the carton). I actually think milk can taste quite good by itself, but I don't actually drink milk by itself. I don't think it's as much of a thing in other countries, or maybe it is?
The milk I drink is leftovers from cereal, flavoured milk, with tea, milkshakes.etc. I don't really know many people who drink plain milk
Are you serious? LOL. Almost everyone I know drinks milk. I drink 2% because it cuts out some of the fat (skim is too watery for me), and some people drink lactose-free milk if they are intolerant, and some people who are anti-dairy and/or trendy go for the almond or soy milk or one of the other feu-feu versions, but 90% of the people I know drink regular old milk.
Over the past year I started drinking organic milk with no antibiotics and hormones, but it's pricey.
I drink 2 cups of 2% milk everyday (unless I happen to have a flu...that wouldn't be good)...
THAT, my friend, was hysterical. lol
I lost it when he said "that sh*t belongs in the yogurt section." LOL
Even better:
"If you're lactose intollerate, what's in the carton?! Get it away from my milk. It's talking to my milk and making it feel bad about itself."
Then he said "soy juice." That's what my co-worker says every time I open my "milk." lol
HILarious! lol (Thanks for the laugh. )
