I think UHT milk is used only commercially like for McD shakes and flurries, milk products and such. UHT milk is more popular in hot countries because it does not get spoiled for a long time.
I seldom actually buy Devondale, but actually I don't find it tastes half bad. To me it tastes like the milk I had in the US - which I assume was not long life.

Not a fan of store bought milk, but fresh cow's milk from our friend's herd or fresh goat's milk from our girls can't be beat. Ice cold and creamy with a fresh taste. No antibiotics, hormones or such in our milk. I think store bought milk is flavorless and smells weird.

This thread also reminds me of a pet peeve. There is no such thing as soy milk, almond milk or rice milk. It's NOT milk, it's JUICE more than anything. Milk comes from mammals.

Parmalat sells UHT milk in the US. They're sold in tetrapaks in the baking section along with the powdered milk.

Also, most organic milk is UHT milk, but it's sold in the refrigerated section so as not to put potential sellers off. That's why organic milk always seems to last longer than regular milk.

I love drinking a tall glass of milk especially with a peanut butter/jelly sandwich. I buy skim. I cannot stand the thickness of whole or 2%

I still don't like the taste of unsweetened soy milk, but I love sweetened soy milk, like the kind you find at Oriental supermarkets or Asian restaurants here. It's really refreshing.

I'll have to look out for almond milk but I've never seen it anywhere in the supermarkets here.

Refer back to the earlier post (#39) containing the video of the comedian. (I just watched it again, and laughed just as hard as the first time. LOL!)
