Mine would be:

- Italian: cannoli - ideally filled with chocolate filling and shaved chocolate
- Italian: tiramisu
- Greek: baklava

What counts as ethnic? Creme brulee is one of my favorite things but I don't really think of the French as "ethnic."

I am not really a sweets/dessert person, but I like occasionally Italian gelato, or Tiramisu, thin crepes filled with fresh fruit ( native, Polish nalesniki ), fruit filled pierogi, Umm Ali ( sort of bread pudding, very tasty).

I was going to say. If French, German.etc is 'ethnic' I can't list 'em all.

Outside Europe, for instance, they include baklava from Turkey, Turkish delight, barfi from India, Gula Melacca and Cendol from Malaysia and Indonesia, Mochi ice cream from Japan.

wow, I normally don't eat desserts cause I eat too much of everything else and have to cut back somewhere, but that doesn't mean I don't love all of it pretty much: I guess Baklava would be close to top, followed by Flaun and creme Burlee. Unless French wine counts, if that is the case, I vote for it or Spanish, or Argintine or Austrailan, or CA.

When I first heard of tiramisu I thought it was Japanese, because the name sounds Japanese to me! It's great though.
