can y'all tell me an easy and good way to make some melt in your mouth type biscuits? i dont have any southern type roots but i would like to learn.

I'll eat bisquick if I have to or it's offered up to me, but in comparison to my homemade biscuits, they are downright terrible.
I've made biscuits homemade since I was probably 8 and only in recent years found a recipe I was totally happy with.
2 cups of flour
1 tablespoon baking powder
1 teaspoon sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 stick of Kerrygold Irish butter
Just over 3/4 cup Half and Half or Buttermilk(probably closer to 7/8ths)
Blend the dry stuff together. Cut in the butter until it's finely chopped and blended into the flour mixture. Add in the half and half. Mix and then I usually use my hands in the bowl to mix it all well together into a solid lump of dough. Then onto the floured board. Kneed a bit and then flatten to about 3/4 inch thickness. I use a cup to cut them out at the desired size. Usually I make mine big enough to fit a small sausage patty.
Use a ceramic baking tray and put in a preheated 450 degree oven. I check mine around 12 minutes and probably do another 2-3 minutes until they are nicely browned on the outside.
I serve mine with Maple smoked pork sausage as a sausage biscuit, or with fried egg and bacon on them.
Once you've done them on your own, they really don't take much longer than any mix and you cut out all the crap they put in mixes like propylene glycol, tbhq and shortening.
