I'm trying to decide between Weber Genesis E330 and and Genesis S330. Not sure if the $150 price difference is worth the S330. Which is better - cast iron vs. stainless steel grates? Thanks for your feedback.
I have the smaller spirit with the black exterior and cast iron grates. I'm happy with the black exterior, shows less of the mess and love the cast iron grates for a hard sear.

I don't know from grills, but I think cast iron is heavy and can rust and can break more easily. My mom had a large cast iron pancake griddle and I think you had to wait until it got totally cool before washing it. She put water on it too early and it cracked.
I know my stainless steel fry pans can be put under water while still hot and that gets a lot of the grime off. Also, you can clean and rinse them without having to oil them to prevent rust.
I think the stainless steel might save you extra time and effort in cleanup, but I may be wrong.
I would love the Genesis in brown enamel, but alas too pricey for us. I can use three cheaper ones for the next 10 years and still come out ahead.
