Weber 516501 Q 120 Gas Grill

This grill has great reviews but it weighs 31 pounds.
Is it too heavy to carry while camping/outdoor grilling at state parks for a day trip etc ?

Anyone who has this grill have any opinions?

Thank you and Happy Summer

The weight certainly shouldn't be a problem. Physical dimensions might depends on how you're transporting it.

I do have a big fat SUV
The trouble may be hoist it up 2 floors to my apartment

Can one just keep the grill in the trunk of SUV ? Will the gas cylinder blow up or something if exposed to the sun ?

Thats a nice little tail gate grill. I would NOT keep the tank in the truck.

I have one from Coleman that I really like. It is 60lbs but folds up and stows quick and nice.

At least it won't blow away in the wind. Mine from last year is probably in Texas or East by now.

We have had 50+ mph winds so I had to use rocks to hold down my little Weber...

Thanks for replies
This makes me realize that a propane portable grill may not be the best idea for apartment living . I have no where to store the propane cylinder . I have no garage or area of my apartment that is not within 5 feet of doors or windows( state regulations ?)
So essentially , until I have my own house, I am better off with a charcoal grill.
Am I right ?

Negative. I believe this model uses the small disposable bottles you can get at WalMart. These you can store in your apartment as long as they haven't been tapped.

that's what I have and use. I've had ~crummy luck with grills in the outdoors. Rather have a stove. Can fry a burger on the stove and make some MAc and Cheese, too! And they're darn handy if you lose power for some reason. (Seattle has winter storms that knock out power...for days, sometimes.)

I have this grill and I love it! I have had it three years now and it still works like new! The grill area is hugh and I can cook a lot of food on it. The propane cylinders last 2-3 BBQs. I usually grill all my food on medium and cook pototos, veggies and then meat 1 1/2 hours or so at a time. The electric ignitor is great and works every time. I purchased the rolling cart so I don't really ever carry it anywhere as I wheel it to where I am BBQing. I think you will be very happy with it as it is very well made. I live in an apartment and unless I'm burning something (rarely happens lol) I don't have to worry about smoke or charcoal fumes while I cook on my patio.
