Brown rice has a plan taste to me but It's something I know I need to eat as apart of my nutrition plan, how do you spruce up the taste without decreasing it's nutritional value?

Thanks,
Ron

I buy jasmine or basmati brown rice. Both have great flavor.

I sometimes make tahini sauce or use soy sauce.....but most of the time I just eat it plain.

Oh, and I always use a rice cooker.

I have never found a brown rice recipe that I liked, but there are others that think it is wonderful. Of course basic white rice doesn't have much flavor either. I would guess any dark sause would help make brown rice a little more enjoyable., maybe a little soy, ginger or something along those lines.

Everything is better with sriracha sauce!

Actually, I make brown rice in my rice cooker. Then I transfer it into a frying pan with a bit of coconut oil, add either already-cooked chicken or shrimp, crack an egg into the mix, toss in some already-steamed broccoli, throw in some soy sauce and some good ol' sriracha sauce... stir, stir, stir until the egg is cooked (and is in tiny pieces) and until the egg and the sauces are all incorporated... and it's my favorite meal of the week.

Definitely!

I always put a variety of spices in w/ the water before cooking.

That helps immensely!

Can I chime in on this one?

We used to have a super-expensive Zojirushi rice cooker. It was fabulous, but then a part broke and we had to replace it. We decided to try the super-NOT-expensive Aroma brand, sold through Amazon. It's been chugging along well for the last -- oh, I don't know -- five years? It's terrific, and at a great price point. I don't know that I'd spend big bucks again for a rice cooker -- the cheap one is doing the job just as well, and I use it often.

What I'll do is add black beans to the rice and maybe some other goodies like diced tomatoes, hot peppers,etc.....
