There was a Stuckey's west of Greenville, Mississippi, close to the old Mississippi River Bridge. I remember the billboard between Leland and Greenville advertising it. But the old Stuckey's was out of business the only time I remember seeing it. Only the foundation is left.
I saw a Stuckey's while traveling yesterday, near Richmond, Indiana. I can remember seeing them everywhere when traveling as a child.
We used to stop at a Stuckey's that had a huge working bee hive in a glass case. You could buy fresh honey and honey comb at the store, and my mom occasionally did. My brothers and I would stand and watch the bees while dad put gas in the car.
Stuckey's also used to have samples of fudge and candy. Once we bought a jar of rock candy, looked like clear crystals that were crunchy and probably pure sugar.
Oh, wow! Stuckey's brings back memories of family vacations (1960s and 1970s) with us three kids in the back seat of the car, Dad driving, and Mom trying to keep the peace between us. LOL
We kids always wanted to stop at Stuckey's whenever we passed one, and sometimes Dad would stop and let us look at the overpriced wares. When we did stop, Mom usually let us get a pecan roll. However, most of the time as we passed a Stuckey's and we kids were hollering for Dad to stop, he'd say, "We're in the wrong lane." LOL

But now we're big and we can stop wherever we want.
