i have to say i am not a fan of the shake! i have tried it a couple of times and each time i remember why i dont ususally order it. maybe i am just not ordering from the right place, not sure. i guess this doesnt help, but i am wondering if i am the only one?

Steak and Shake makes actual MILKSHAKES, you know, the kind made with MILK and ICE CREAM. What you do is you put the ice cream in with the milk and you mix them together, thus the term milkshake.
I presume Whataburger makes "shakes", "shakes" being a generic marketing term for that goop that comes in 55 gallon drums and is extruded from a machine in a process more akin to a machine shop than a restaurant. Here's what Whataburger says their "shake" contains----Milkfat and nonfat milk, sugar, corn syrup, whey, buttermilk, guar gum, carrageenan, artificial flavor, caramel color, yellow #5, and yellow #6.
Yummy.

I like Whataburger also. I had a vanilla shake that tasted more like homemade ice cream than a regular shake.
