"Let's Have a BBQ Today" BURGER KING® Commercial - YouTube

I think it's because I think of actual BBQ when someone says, "Let's have a BBQ today!"
Plus, that burger looks sad....like, "I wanna be slow cooked ribs, glazed in a tangy sauce" kind of sad.

They dare, because Dire Straits gave them permission to dare (and probably for a generous fee).

I don't disagree with you, but I wish BK used a song I don't like.

Is the Burger King guy in the commercial? I can't watch it if he is because he gives me nightmares.

Hah, this goes back to that other discussion on here earlier wherein some people call any meat that is cooked on a flame or coals "BBQ," although most people (in the U.S., at least) call it "grilling," and reserve "BBQ" for slow smoked and cooked meats.

Burger King has been trying a variety of different ploys for over 30 years that I can remember... In the beginning, (1956?) their burgers were flame broiled fresh... Now it seems they cook them some unknown way, throw them in a pan of water and then microwave them when someone orders one... A bit of BBQ sauce, and they call it BBQ. Anybody remember their International sandwiches?

[/Rant off]
