Just started researching about it and supposedly it's better than angus because it's grass fed and takes longer to mature, so it taste better. Has anyone ever tried it? I'd like to make a cheeseburger using Devon beef.
Do here in NM, Angus (BLACK) is a good cow that can withstand the conditions. Along with it's cousin the Red Angus and Brangus are both excellent meat producing cows. Herefords and Charolais are also among the top producers and are favored in my area.
I split a home grown Black Angus w/ my neighbor and let me tell you, it was the best in the west. Of course I fed it also.
Most folks in a blind test would not know what they are eating.......
I'm sure what they're fed is of great importance as to final product. More than breed I suspect. Having said this all these breeds have certain characteristic good/bad points. I'd like a nice Rib-eye right now ...
