I've had a meat cleaver I bought 15+ years ago from Goodwill. If I remember right, it cost me a dollar or two and a couple of minutes of sharpening. I'm sure it might've went up in price by now, but Goodwill was a good source of kitchenware/cutlery when I was a younger man with not-so-unlimited funds. I bought a couple of heavy bladed kitchen knives for my dad from there before. He preferred beating a kitchen knife with a hammer through his bones when he was cutting up meat. My dad is not nice to knives.
Just figured I'd mention it in this forum. As long as you don't care what matches with what, you can get some really decent kitchen equipment at Goodwill. Lodge frying pans and dutch ovens, etc.

I used to have a coffee cup I bought from Goodwill that I used for my 4 years at Cheyenne Mountain, back in the day. It held about 40oz. Cost me .75 cents. Man, I miss that coffee cup. Made in the USA. No lead in the glaze. (Unlike coffee cups made in China.) Had a picture of an armadillo on it. A really ugly armadillo. And a crack in the side. The crack got darker, the more coffee you drank. It was
glorious.
