I used to make them all the time They are inbetween chocolate cake and brownies, as far as texture goes. You make them with coffee, or can substitute with water.
I LOVE these things! My SO doesn't drink coffee at all and I am trying to remember if there is a real coffee taste to them.

Well, I'm from Texas but I've never heard of Texas brownies. Texas sheet cake, yes. Brownies, no. They do sound good. Anything with chocolate and coffee combined can't be bad. Those are 2 of my favorite things.
