Trying to figure this one out and wondered if C-D might be a good place to ask this. There was a show back in the mid to late 1970's called Cooking with Bernard, featuring a French chef who prepared classic French cuisine using readily available ingredients.
There was even a book issued during the same period by the same name.
I'm trying to figure out what his last name was. I recall he had emigrated to the United States in the 1960's. Beyond that I don't recall much.
Anyone familiar with this and recall the chef's last name?

I remember him, he had glasses, very little hair and he was chubby? I used to love his show. I am researching on You tube and google. I cannot find anything. He used to say "Abiento" at the end of show right?

This is the guy. Memories can sometimes distort reality.
click on front cover and enlarge it. TV Personality is part of his bio. I doubt very seriously there were another "Cooking with Bernard" shows on during the 70's.

It used to be on WSMW TV-27 out of Worcester. I know he went by "Bernard" but he had to have a last name.
WSMW later became WUNI.

Lubby: I think you're thinking of The Frugal Gourmet. Watched a lot of that with the family for some strange reason when I was a kid too.

I worked with Bernard on the show. It was at WPRI when the station was on the top floor of the building across 95 from the Civic Center. Rose and Mort Blender were the Producers. He had the show, a cooking school and three restaurants.
