When I cheat and eat blood oranges (doc wants me avoiding fruit, among many other things, so a girl has got to cheat from time to time ), I often eat the peel, too. People think I'm nuts, but now I have proof that I'm not. I recently discoveredDried Orange Slices! Delish!

Oh, and I recently had eggplant dolmades (vs grape leaves). Genius.
After all my years of cooking, I had never eaten Jicama. I found some at the store, bought it and looked it up when I got home and found that it was good dipped in lime juice and then in chili powder. I found it wasn't too bad that way.
It's sweet when you eat it raw and tastes like a fruit and then when cooked it's kind of like a potato. I made a slaw from it and it was good.
Avacado - I had them once or twice in the past but lately I have been having them weekly. I understand they are good for skin as they contain good amounts of niacin. They are great in salads and sliced in sandwiches along with my usual lettuce and tomato.
Giardiniera, specifically Chicago-style hot giardiniera.
