When I cheat and eat blood oranges (doc wants me avoiding fruit, among many other things, so a girl has got to cheat from time to time ), I often eat the peel, too. People think I'm nuts, but now I have proof that I'm not. I recently discovered Dried Orange Slices! Delish!

What food have you recently discovered?

Oh, and I recently had eggplant dolmades (vs grape leaves). Genius.

After all my years of cooking, I had never eaten Jicama. I found some at the store, bought it and looked it up when I got home and found that it was good dipped in lime juice and then in chili powder. I found it wasn't too bad that way.

It's sweet when you eat it raw and tastes like a fruit and then when cooked it's kind of like a potato. I made a slaw from it and it was good.

Avacado - I had them once or twice in the past but lately I have been having them weekly. I understand they are good for skin as they contain good amounts of niacin. They are great in salads and sliced in sandwiches along with my usual lettuce and tomato.
