I called in an order to my favorite restaurant this weekend for a rack of baby back ribs. We got there and hubby went in to pick up the order ... he came back out with a cup of iced tea and said it will be a few more minutes they had to send the ribs back.
We had allowed ample time for the order to be ready. He said they told him when the order came up, the lady was checking it and there was hair on the ribs. She said they were preparing another rack. These things are not cheap and I don't think restaurants can just throw away something like this.
I know things happen in restaurants, behind the scenes, we diners are not aware of but I had a problem with this. I couldn't eat the ribs.
I don't think the lady should have told hubby what the problem was ... just your order will be ready shortly. No human hair details. Hubby had no problem with it and ate the ribs. LOL
Our daughter worked part-time in a cafeteria when she was in school and would come home with stories but she never discussed things with the customer. She had to wear a hairnet and those plastic gloves. I don't see the hairnets as often now.
"Hairs" as in human hairs? Or those naturally occuring looking hairs on ribs? If you look really close they are on some meat products like chicken and ribs.

Afraid it wasn't animal hairs ... Ms Personality went into great detail with hubby regarding the 'human hair' and she just couldn't understand how this happened. If I had gone in I would have started gagging ... hubby has a cast iron stomach.
I am aware of natural hair, the animal grew itself ... pins from the pin feathers on chickens ... hogs have hair ... all part of nature and hopefully removed.
I never understood the "gross factor" with a hair in the food. I mean, it's not something you'd want to see, I get that much. But honestly - if you see a hair in the food, pull it out and place it on your napkin or flick it to the floor or something. I'm not even sure I'd have a problem with a gnat flying into my pina colada. A cockroach, on the other hand, would get me packing, no thanks, I don't need a replacement meal, just remind me of the name so I remember not to ever come back. But a hair? Eh. It just doesn't bother me all that much.
