Prayers to all those along the Atlantic coast. We are safe here in AR, but a little on the cold side. If nothing else, enjoy the hotel JRsgrl...Hopefully the storm will not be as bad as predicted. This often sems to be the case, the worst ones are not expected.

Not sure what is going to happen with Hurricane Sandy, so I am making Sunday gravy and DH is making beef stew. We should be covered if power is out for any amount of time. Thank goodness for a gas stove and gas heat.

For anyone in the path of Sandy, be safe.

I just stuck a huge chicken on to cook with lots of veggies and garlic. I kill 2 birds with one stone. I will cook him or her til done, then drain and strain, saving most of the broth for stock. I will then use the veggies and the chicken plus some of the stock for chicken and noodles...The only thing I don't like about the big chicks, they make so much for 2 of us that we are eating chicken for days, even after freezing part of it. I remember when the chickens used to be little, skinny, white birds. Now they are fat and more on the yellow side...
