Buy (whole) milk once a week, either half-gallon (2 quarts) or single quart size container. If there were an intermediate size between those two units of measurement, it would probably be "just right" for me.
Weeks in which I have extra (leftover) from the half-gallon, the next week I'll buy smaller (one quart) size to compensate, then I'll get the larger amount the week after that, and so on...
I buy a quart of whole milk about every 10 days. The only thing I use it for is to put in my coffee because I just can't train myself to drink it black.
I buy it by the quart. Pint size would be better for me because often I can't use the whole qt before it sours. Where do those who use pints buy them? Can't find any around here.
