Do most prefer their apples, pears, grapes, strawberries and such to be chilled or room temperature?
I prefer them chilled, but I'm unsure if that taints the flavor somewhat?
People leave a fruit bowl on the kitchen table, but isn't it disappointing to grab a piece of fruit from there if there's one chilled in the fridge?
I realize pears and peaches are best left to ripen on the counter (in a pierced paper bag) after buying them, but still prefer them chilled when biting into them.
Do most prefer their apples, pears, grapes, strawberries and such to be chilled or room temperature?
Some kinds I like either way - others I prefer either chilled or room temp depending on what the fruit is.
Freshly picked fruit I like as is right off the tree or wherever it grew. But for most circumstances...
Apples - chilled and crisp (no red delicious!)
Bananas - room temp
Berries (besides strawberries) - either but I tend to refrigerate them
Grapes - either but I often refrigerate them
Oranges/citrus - room temp unless it's grapefruit that's been sectioned
Peaches - room temp
Pears - room temp
Pineapple - chilled
Plums - room temp
Strawberries - room temp
Those are the basic fruits that I usually have - I'll spare you the list of all the others that I like to eat
Oooo I forgot about melons! Mmmm, I do love chilled watermelon. Other melons I enjoy either way but probably usually have them chilled. Yum! Thanks for the reminder Hunter!
canned fruits, which I rarely eat I like chilled, other than that I don't really like much of anything chilled except white wine, ice crream and whipped cream...
