I noticed a $1.50 coupon in our Sunday paper for Hellmann's Real Whipped Dressing Tangy. Has anyone bought this? $1.50 is certainly a respectable amount cents off coupon.

Is it Mayo or is it like Miracle Whip? Does anyone know if it comes in the Light version? I don't want to spend money on it and not like it.

Help?

I guarantee it is not Mayo, or they would call it Mayo. But federal rules on what can be called mayonnaise are strict, which is why Miracle Whip cannot be called mayo and is called a salad dressing instead.

My best guess is that they are going after the Miracle Whip business with their own version of a cheaper spread.

It sounds like Miracle Whip-style salad dressing to me. "Whipped" was probably carefully chosen by the marketing folks to draw subconscious associations to Miracle Whip.
