I despise the cranberry jelly that retains the shape of the can that it came in.

Also, serving jarred turkey gravy in lieu of homemade... I don't get why you'd go to the trouble of making all these dishes from scratch, including a big juicy turkey, and then whip out a salty processed version of gravy with a dozen chemicals that you can't pronounce.

Choke, gasp...egg nog. Nasty stuff. The texture is too heavy. The color is nauseating. And the smell of too much nutmeg...stop.

Fruitcake.....no thanks.

Black eye peas with collard greens on New Years....no, no, no.

I'll pass on:

Eggnog
Anything with marshmallows or nutmeg or maple
creamed onions
heavy, wet dressing with giblets - I'm more of a giblet-free fluffy stuffing kind of person
Dreamwhip or Cool Whip. Just use regular whipped cream please.

I do not care for Pecan Pie.

I prefer my candied yams mashed with a crumbly topping as opposed to sliced.

I will not eat stuffing that was inside a Turkey, but love stuffing that is baked separately, or cooked in a slow cooker.

I make cranberry sauce by putting 1 bag raw cranberries, one orange with peel, and 3/4 cup sugar in the food processor and let it sit overnight. I don't like the kind in the can.

Creamed onions..... um, just no.

Because pecans are God's love letter to us? Because they are delicious and perfect?

Nutmeg cane get you high....if you eat enough of it. The high can last for DAYS. I never tried it. Hallucinating ... it just ain't my thing.

Mmmmmmmmm. After reading this thread, I'm looking forward to a Thanksgiving dinner of stuffed turkey, sweet potatoes, green beans, squash, pumpkin pie, cranberry sauce, and eggnog!
