I think she is pretty much fed up with irresponsible behaviour.
She is using her remaining years to teach the kids a contrast that, here to for, had been compromised for so long .
Being at any one's home should accompany certian rules written or not .
It is sad enough to go to a resturant, where the kids back talk to their parents, and the parents don't thave the gumption to act, or fallow through with their warnings.
go granny
Just had to share this letter from a granny to her family when she is expecting 32 guests and what she expects. No Jello salad! Don't come to the house expecting to use the oven or stove.
one of the beauties of getting old is the freedom to speak your mind. This letter is priceless.
Thanks for sharing and another beuty, you can choose to be old when it is time to clean up the kitchen..it's kinda reverse from being a kid: when you are a kid you beg to do things the big people do but when it comes to being asked to help or whatever: you say, gee, i am just a kid you know. When we get old, we think we can still do the things we did 20, 30 or 40 years before, but can use the I'm too Old phrase when it is convenient..At least there are a few positives about advancing years.
Why do some old people feel they can say what they want, insult who they like and get away with it? While I totally support her rules to protect her belongings, many of her comments were just plain rude. Telling the bringer of the jello mold it will go into the garbage...how hurtful can you get? Who is she to decide what topics of conversation are allowed during the meal? Whatever happened to graciousness and kindness? I am thinking the one relative who opted to stay home with her sick cat made the right choice.
You know, I read some of her other blog posts and she does seem like a mean old lady. I think I'd pass on an invite to her house for the holidays... Not because of the letter tho, her house her rules.
If that is what I had to head home to, I think that I would prefer to be an orphan.
