I bought a gently used Square 2 piece oversized Angel Food Cake pan at an auction. It measures 9 inches square and is 4 inches deep. It's huge!!! I thought I would first try a angel food cake mix to see how it bakes before I waste so many eggs making a homemade recipe as I know one recipe/mix isn't enough for this monster pan.

But, I can't figure out how many cake mixes it will hold and can't find anything when I searched google.
I imagine two mixes will do the trick but don't know for sure.

Anyone have any experience with the oversized angel food cake pans?

Hi rural chick. I am thinking that 2 cake mixes should be fine in that wonderful pan, and bring it up to about 5/8 inches below the top of it when baking a cake....and I'll bet it will accept 3 cake mixes, bringing it up above the top but it should puff up above the top and be great. (Leave the oven closed for the duration!)
I would love to have that pan to make my Yorkshire pudding in! I always make a big batch of it and I never use the muffin tins. Your pan is what I need!
Congrat's on your purchase!

Thanks for your concurrence on my thoughts rainroosty...If I don't like this pan, I'm going to send it to you! It was well worth the dollar I spent plus I got 4 Wilton cake molds in the same box.
