Wondered if many of you have made, or tried, stuffed burgers? What all did you put in them? I saw them on DDD at the Nook where they made their own rendition of the Jucy Lucy.
So far I've made with colby cheese, and colby with cooked and diced bacon. Both good but also HUGE! I used two 1/4# homemade patties to stuff. I'd like to make sliders but haven't tried yet, might b hard.
Just see'n what ya'll have tried that worked and didn't work.
I saw the Jucy Lucys on DDD too, and I just had to try my hand at it. I just seasoned the meat and used Velveeta. I also made a side of onion rings using Paula Deen's beer batter....pure decadence .
For those who haven't tried them yet, probably the most important step is making sure that you have a good seal around your cheese so that you don't have a blowout and lose all that cheesy goodness on the grill.
Caramelized onions and whatever cheese sounds good. I like aged cheddar or blue cheese.
Cooked crumbled bacon would be good, but I've never used it for stuffed burgers. Sauteed mushrooms would be good. Or long green chili with jack cheese.
