Hope the prices aren't too high this year. Point cut or brisket...hmm probably go with
the point cut.

Cabbage should be about .10cents/lb.

Oh, and love those corned beef sand's on rye...BUT, the cost of Orowheat rye bread
around here is close to $4.89/loaf

Happy St. Patty's Day folks.

HW

P.S.= Green beer..no not for me, give me a BASS..

I bought a corned beef brisket about three weeks ago and stuck it my freezer. I already have 1/2 a loaf of Jewish rye in there as well. All I need is some decent mustard. I'm not really in a cabbage mood though, so I think I'll just be making corned beef sandwiches this weekend and I don't drink beer. I did decorate my office at work (yes, I'm one of those types who will decorate for every holiday.

Yes it is & I'm happy about that
I just bought my 2 corned beefs today, & 2 heads of cabbage, carrots, potatoes, etc.
I also got sliced corned beef, rye bread, thousand island dressing, sauerkraut & swiss cheese in the meantime
Since I can't stand Guinness, I'll get my usual beer, but it'll be a good Irish dinner this Sunday

For something Irish, but American Irish, try some Syracuse Salt Potatoes with that corned beef and cabbage.

It's on sale at Publix this week, so we just had it last night. So good. The cabbage is $.49 a pound.
I will probably get a few more and stick them in the freezer.

Getting my corned beef and cabbage today. Since I'm 1/2 Irish it's a must have for me every year. Don't forget to wear something green or you'll get pinched!

It is on sale here starting today: points: $2.69 and flats: $3.49. We will buy ours in a day or so, maybe tomorrow when we go to the dentist and whatever else we have to do; it is errand running day. We might actually stop at Sam's and price them. I don't think they will be any cheaper though. As for the rye bread, i will price it at The Atlanta Bread factory I think. Hunter, I won't spend that much for Orowheat brand, I would rather pay $5 and get the really, really, good stuff. Yes, Orowheat is good, but still not like baked that day bread..

I paid $1.79 a pound for the flat cut, cabbage was 39 cents a lb and a bag of potatoes was $1.99. I am buying another corned beef this week to freeze because hubby loves it and it's still on sale for $1.79 a pound. I am making a corned beef and cabbage dinner the night before easter when my mom comes over.
