Business Reopens On Probation After Two-Day Closure
GREENCASTLE, Ind. -- A Mexican restaurant in Greencastle, Ind., was closed for nearly two days after a health inspector noticed a deer carcass had been butchered on the kitchen floor, officials said.
Quite truthfully, I wouldn't mind so much. Never have I seen so many people squeamish over freshly butchered animals...you know in most other countries, people appreciate the freshly butchered meat. It seems that here, we prefer to have them in cold, processed lumps, wrapped in plastic and Styrofoam.
I'm a Mexican food fan and have eaten at Mexican restaurants all over and I've never seen venison on any menu. That conjures up scary thoughts about it being sold as beef or pork ! It's not that I think venison is bad, or dog for that matter, I just want to know what I'm eating.
The butchering of animals doesn't bug me, as I am a meat eater. Butchering on the floor, well that is just disgusting and unsanitary. So no, I wouldn't eat there if putting food on the floor is normal practice.
Just because of a deer carcass? No. If the place is dirty also, then yes. I'm a hunter and I butcher my own deer. There's nothing dirty about it at all. Same as beef or any other animal. Deer do carry tics though so I'd hope the deer was skinned outside before being brought in for actual butchering.

Altho sometimes......maybe I just DON'T want to know
