"oil" is what my grandparents used in place of lard and butter because someone told them it was healthier. Blah.

I can't imagine that it would be hard to give up.

Whenever I can find boneless turkey breast, I will cook that in the oven with low sodium chicken or vegetable broth. I poke the breast with a fork to let the broth soak in. I have never had such tender, juicy turkey then when cooking it this way.

Depends on the veggie and the goal. Green ones? Yes, a lot of the time. And I finish with a drizzle of olive oil. I use oil for meats though.

I grew up with a southern mother who cooked everything in bacon drippings so i gradually moved to evoo and then some stock but i still keep evoo on hand for roasting and browning roasts before i put them in the crock pot.
