Morning all MRE last night for me was beef ravioli. Never seen one of these things before, you put a pouch inside a bag and add water and the thing heats it right up. Craziest thing I have ever seen. Taste wise it wasn't bad. Hubby had chicken and veggies, sons had beef stew and beef meatballs.

Tonight for dinner I think we are having some hot dogs I bought yesterday but was too tired to grill.

We were lucky, at the beginning of the week for 4 days straight all the neighbors pooled together all the food that was thawing out so we had neighborhood cookouts so one night we had halibut, next night steak the last night we had fajitas. It was really nice. We met a ton of neighbors we hadn't ever talked to before. Of course now all of our freezer food is gone so back to canned goods til we can restock.

Hope everyone has a great day.

I had some of those MRE's when we lost power from a hurricane, they weren't too bad...

I hadn't ate anything yesterday i think shoe leather would have tasted good. LOL Actually all in all it wasn't as horrific as I thought it would be, just wished it was a little bigger.

Good Morning Dinnercrowd.

I was taking a class all weekend so last night hubster cooked steak and baked potato on the grill.Yum

Tonight I am going to pop in a Turkey breast in the oven with a little stuffing (hope I can resist) then for leftovers we can turn them into turkey gobblers turkey stuffing and cranberry sauce wraps, toast or just sandwiches.

I now have the cooking part over so now I have a question. A pen leaked all over my passenger seats in my car yesterday. What a stain. It is cloth seats and I tried Magic Eraser to no avail.

Any suggestions???????????? Thanks in advance.

Try hair spray. That works on ink sometimes. Spray the spot, blot it up, spray the spot....etc. It may take a few times. Good luck.

MTH, isn't it nice to meet people like that? Sounds like grown-up camp!

Maybe you could try that "Goof-Off". But be careful as it is pretty strong so try it first in a place you won't be able to notice. It takes out ink really well. You can get it at Lowes or Home Depot. Infact you can probably get it in a lot of other places but I don't know for sure. I always keep it on hand.

Fall has definitely arrived here in the Pacific Northwest, yesterday our high temperature was only 54F, and today is forecast to be around 60F.

So, to celebrate the arrival of my favorite season I'm making a pork roast with apples, sweet potatoes, and sauerkraut.

I'll season the roast with salt and pepper, brown it well, then put it in a Dutch oven, surround it with sweet potatoes, apples and the sauerkraut, sprinkle it with brown sugar and cinnamon, and put it in the oven at about 250F for four to six hours.
