I found a cook book that belongs to my roommate. It's from the UK and has receipes from during and just after WW2. It's interesting but the receipes call for a lot of "fat" and drippings from bacon, etc.

Tonight; meatloaf. Grass fed ground beef from Roger, and pastured pork sausage from Rainbow Meadow Farm (their eggs too). Some bread crumbs, and seasonings. Made too much for us tonight, so when I put the mix together last night I used the extra to make some meatballs which I promptly froze for a rainy day.

I know you're supposed to serve meatloaf with mashed 'taters, and it would have been my choice, but my wife vetoed that and we'll be having baked.

Also made up a pot of baked beans this morning that my wife should be taking out of the oven in about an hour and a half. I'm very excited about these beans because it's my 2nd attempt and I changed up my recipe a lot from the first try. Using a ham hock instead of so much bacon, added fresh jalepeno, got dark brown sugar this time, and soaked them a little longer.

I have been craving comfort food lately - would love to make some creamy, yummy, rich-as-sin mac n cheese tonight, and throw in some peas, mushrooms, and flaked tuna to make it a full-on casserole...but it's back to school night so my comforting will have to wait until tomorrow night.

So it looks like I'll be throwing a frozen pizza in the oven tonight - it's a chicken spinach pizza I bought at Costco and I've never tried it before, so we'll see how it is. Has anyone tried this from Costco before?

Ham and scalloped potatoes. I double the white sauce so that they are doublely creamy.

Hello all, wow lots to catch up here. I have pork chops out, will make some mashed potatoes and probably a salad. Also have some leftover fra diavolo from last night, will probably use that up too.
