We had cheese ravioli with ricotta, salad with basalmic dressing, mixed squash with a few shrimp and scallops. Excellent!

Happy weekend, everyone!

Now I'm getting hungry for a big Italian meal (is there any other size?) and it's 11 at night.

Granny, I simply must tell you how much I enjoy reading your posts! You are so "down-home" and I keep thinking you must be my neighbor! (Of course, I AM in the deep south - south Georgia, and you are in AK) Hmmm, either I am going to adopt you as a south Georgian, or you are going to have to adopt me as an Alaskian?

Last edited by Katsmeeyow; 09-26-2008 at 10:29 PM.. Reason: Apparently I don't know the abbrev for Alaska! Sorry!

I made a recipe called 'Delectable Meats in Ginger Plum Sauce'. It is from Lorna Sass's pressure cooker book. I used short ribs, but you can use many different kinds of meat. The ribs were cooked with leeks, prunes, stock and a bit of soy and balsamic. The meat is removed and deboned at the end and the sauce is pureed with fresh ginger added. So easy! I served over jasmine rice, garnished with scallions, and a side of roasted winter squash. The guys loved it

I am ....should have been a Southern Belle, (yah right), but could be in my element there...like some heat...This is a new experience, as I despise cold, from MN, but can do this, hibernate there, hibernate here....I will adopt you too, can treat you to an Alaskan winter, which I said I would do at least before coming here, and did, and was way better than down there, at least in MN...I'm always up for another kiddo, and I so loved my gramma, that is where the grannysroost partially came from, but not so much for food, she could burn water....gotta love it...

And met NJMike on an Alaska thread on here, where we cried from laughing so hard, so had to give him a "little" crap, was nice to discover him here....

Well now, I will just refer to you as "Miss" Grannysroost!
Surely a southern way to convey respect, affection and admiration!
