I googled how to clean them and was ready for a big production and lots of mess......my partner.....laughed at me.....(in a nice way) and said, he had been cleaning them since he was a little boy and watching his mother and grandmother cook them.....he wasnt interested in my copied instructions and had them all nice and clean in less than 10 mins.

I think we will fry them as calamari....but since he also brought home 5 lobsters....we will cook and eat our fill of those tonight....and if there is left over....pick and save that meat. Tomorrow will be calamari .... since we dont want to freeze the fresh lovely squid. That we will eat with a marinara dipping sauce and perhaps with fried breaded zuchinni slices too.
These meals will be a bit off my diet.....I will try for portion control...but it is my birthday meal.....just a couple of days early.

I figured I have lost about 11 pounds as of this morning.

Lucky you! Everythig sounds so good! My dad and borother used to fish for squid. They are so easy to clean. Much easier than fish. You'll be eating good tonight!

Elston...I thought you'd save those lobsters for our birthday dinner. Oh, well....enjoy, my friend.

Thanks, everybody, for the wishes. HB to you, too, Jessie and Elston and 2 goldens, wherever you may be.

DH is in deep mourning. We just found out his favorite AYCE place is closing its doors. I wondered how they were making it in this economy.

Leftover meatloaf tonight, leftover baked potato becomes tonight's hash-browns

Still no Brussels Sprouts in the farmer's market, I really want some still on the stalk, we've been out in the frost sprouts

Have a wonderful early birthday dinner! Love love squid, so good with garlic mmm. I use an Italian recipe for cooking them long and slow in red wine, tomato and onions, it's sublime....

PS Brilliant work on the dieting!
