Beef stew was great. Still have enough for either another meal that I could freeze but DH said I should keep it in the fridge for some lunches so I'm guessing he liked it! It was so warm and comforting. Yum!
We picked up some tilapia at the store on Friday so DH said he was going to make that for dinner tonight! I'm sure he will do some kind of his typical gourmet sauces to go with it. I'm thinking some kind of interesting rice and a veggie that I have not yet decided on. To early and still on my first cup of coffee so I will have to report back later on that.
For all of you in CA, Amber etc. please be careful with all of those horrible wildfires out there! Seems they have lost more homes in these fires then the norm! Not sure why but they have been saying that each year gets worse.....maybe to many people building homes further in the brush/wooded areas. You'd think at the cost the insurance companies have to put out and the cost to the state they could figure out something. It's so horribly sad!
The rain is gone and the cold has returned. It a crisp 39 this morning going up to the 50's a bit later but it's suppose to dip into the low 20's by Wed. so I'm thinking some nice warming comfort food for this week! Hope everyone has a wonderful Sunday!
Snow, Snow and more snow..... and no more soup! It went so fast! Everyone ate and ate and ate! Which is a compliment.... coming from MY kids I might make it every day! LOL KIDDING!!!!
So tonight, I think I am making meatloaf (TURKEY of course) and potatoes, BROCOLLI, carrots.... stuff that might warm the bones.... it is gross out..... have a great Sunday morning everyone....
I've been up for 2.5 or 3 hours.. ant it's 7 AM! This is so unlike me. I went to bed too early I guess!
It's 39 degrees out, but it's going to be sunny and make it up to the 60's today.
I need to mosey on out to the (detached) garage freezer and see what meat I've got in there. I'm considering tacos for tonight. Yeah yeah yeah, get an imagination, Debsi...
Uh oh.
"You're talking to yourself in the mirror again. Very bad sign."
Its alright.... I'lll forgive ya..... I'll get over it.... even though all day as I look out at that nasty gray sky with that white fluffy crud coming down... as I bundle my kids up with gloves and boots and scarves and hats and winter coats until they cry because they are sweating and I am mean for loading them up with all that garbage.....that you are living it up in the 60s and BBQing.... you better be BBQing it today with those bragging rights .... LOL I know I would be!!!!!!!!!! Please go outstide for me and enjoy it..... I am so jealous.... I will be inside keeping warm (until May LOL)
Finally made the rough and tumble journey from the warm house to the garage. Found the overpriced sausage patties I bought from somebody's kid's school band fund raiser, and also a bone-in chicken breast.
I think I am going to poach the chicken, save the broth for something else, and make shredded chicken tacos for dinner. I took some pinto beans out of the freezer too.
That means I'll also be making more red chile-garlic sauce today and/or my avocado taco sauce as I think I have two avocados well past their salad days.
As for the sausage I'm thinking that I'll make DH and I a nice sausage egg and toast breakfast if he ever gets his lazy bones out of bed!
Football starts at 3:15, that seems too many hours to wait...
I'm making a pot roast for supper tonight.....see you guys who were making pot roast the other day did influence me.
