Of course I did! That's a perfectly good word, at least in this BookWorm's lexicon.

And by the way, what the spouse whomped up tonight was quick-seared shrimp with pesto and garlic over rotini noodles, and I'm here to tell you, that was some gooooood whomping.

I'm sitting here happy, full, and exhausted. We had the family gathering for the combo grandson's birthday and our x-mas meal together. We had my step daughter, her husband, their son(who turned 11 on Monday), and their 4 year old daughter.

Dinner was a huge success. As usual I made way too much food. Chicken Parmesan(my grandson calls it "chicken pizza"), meatballs and sauce, sausage, pasta, salad, and garlic bread.

Homemade candy, cookies, and chocolate birthday cake.

We gave the grandkids each a x-mas container with money, all in single dollar bills. You had to see their faces when they saw all the bills. It was really cute.

Anyway, it was a really nice and pleasant get together.

I went rumbling around the fridge and found some leftover mashed potatoes so made gravy and we had 2 Salisbury steaks in the freezer so we had that. Supper was easy, my fridge got cleaned out and we had time for a game of aggravation before bedtimes after homework was checked.

Hey Kats bake... or grill that chicken and ribs. The temp and time sound fne. Depends on the size too
No dinner. Pizza for hub and baby. Not hungry. To much coffee upset my stomach today.
I had to do a grocery shopping for MIL after work. She lives on a fixed income like alot people and is just down and out right now. I filled the fridge and cupboards. Should last a while. She was happy and thankfull. I feel like that is just something you do... take care of your family. I also believe in karma so good deeds don't hurt every now and then

That was very nice of you amber. When my inlaws were still livng we use to pay for their precriptions or electric bill for a few months for gifts. They enjoyed that more than any trinkets we bought for them and told us so. Times are going to get even harder in the months ahead for our country I hope we all do what we can to help a neighbor. Some years for Christmas gifts we would give meat from our local butcher that was always appreciated no matter who was receiving it.
