Thank you everyone. Dinner was great although I didn't have room for desert. We started off with some lobster nachos, then we had salads and then our main courses. My mother and I each had the lobster lover's dinner, a maine and rock lobster tail, and shrimp lobster alfredo. My husband had the lobster and salmon, a maine lobster tail and salmon with a lobster butter sauce. I love the fact that my birthday falls within lobsterfest!
Lacey..... big step for Mr L today w/ the liquids!! that is great... keeping up the prayers....now you go and get toasty and stay warm!!! How very cold you must be!!! Would share my spring like day with you if I could- even if it is short lived (dropping to 20 tomorrow)
Burdell....dinner tonight sounds so amazing! yum....
Nomad....glad you got your coconut cream pie....
Alright- Dinner was a huge HIT! I am so psyched! I had pork "sirloin" OK... don't really know what that is...LOL... as you all must have figured out by now I usually onlly cook chicken and ground turkey or veggie crumblers... so this was new territory for me. I cooked them in Balsamic Vinegrette and the kids and hubby LOVED them! I had some minor changes to my meal- had Broc w/ cheese sauce, baked yams, wax beans, and salad.... very yummy. Skipped out on the baked apples I wanted to do since hubby dipped so deep into the apples this week the are gone!!!!! That man has a huge appetite lately.... So, no apples left. I thought I had enough for the whole week... guess I will have to stock up at the Farmers Market.... Glad he is eating apples and not cookies......shows he is sticking to his WW plan.... so proud of him
I know.... and Diva LOVES Brussel Sprouts! Not Chatterbox- but hey.... that is alright... string beans is another one they down.... wax beans... they love them... I am lucky that way... Too bad I couldn't just fill their plate with them and a giant baked yam.... Then I know they would eat it all with a smile and no complaints!!!! LOL.....It is the meat that is a total Gamble....
Just put my Greek-style slow-cooked leg of lamb in the oven. It's sitting in lemon zest, lemon juice, white wine, oregano and garlic. With a bunch of peeled potatoes, sliced in half lengthwise, and some small onions. I picked up some pita bread from the Greek bakery to sop up the juices. Haven't decided whether I'll make a side salad with it or not. I've got some fresh baby spinach in the fridge. I think that might go nice with it.
It is officially TGIF day for me now...You just can not start thinking about dinner to soon...I think a grand buffet of leftovers will be a smart move for tomorrow.
If you were referring to me, and the heavenly aroma of lemony/garlicky lamb wafting throughout my entire house, mmmmmmmmm, aaaaaaaaah, then ... anytime. It's a nice big leg! Lots of potatoes, poaching in that yummy concoction of lemon, wine, garlic, oregano and lamb jus.
Would you like a big Aussie red from South Australia, like Ingoldby's Cab Sav, or a cheeky little Kiwi Sauvignon Blanc from the Marlborough region with your lamb?
