Hi all. Had to run into town today so I am late and the electric is low. Anyway guess what I'm having for dinner? Can you say chicken, lol? Yup still working on the second roast. Oh and I went to the grocery store and bought a Turkey Breast for 88 cents LB.(is there a cents key?). It's a poultry house around here. I'm sure my cows are thankful, lol.

cyn- I hope Sadie is ok.

Debsi- I hope you feel better. You deserve takeout.

skbs- Oh the disasters of children. BTW, I store all my items under the kitchen and bathroom sinks in plastic containers. If it is near water it gets put in plastic or elevated. I learned this with age, lol.

Night all. I'll try to check in tomorrow.

Hi, all.

Dh is the Chef du jour and we're having baked fish tonight. He's trying something new - bala. Never heard of it, and I'm a real picky fish eater, so he put in a haddock for me. Sides of corn and peas.

Great news - he got his bloodwork report today and his HDL and triclycerides were fantastic. His last report was horrible and the dr. had told him he was borderline diabetic, but, with watching his diet and working outside in the garden so much, he's really turned it around.

I take it you did resist the skin.

It is hard for me to do that. I even take the skin off pieces or retrieve the skin from boiled chicken and lay it out on a rack in a pan...pop it into the oven...and cook it slowly until it gets nice and crispy. You should see all the fat that cooks off! I like to snack on those crispy chicken skins...oh it is so BAD for me and so GOOD! I'm sure I'm not the only one...

NMS that is fantastic news on DH! Every time you speak of fish I get a hankering for drum from down there. If you like bass you would like drum if you get a chance to try it.

Jessie good decision

buckhead you would have plenty of skin to eat around here we all throw it away no matter how the chicken is cooked.

Off to swim meet folks!

Default Ronald McDonald's Biscuits

Hello dixie......nice to see you.

I have the stew I made and I just mixed up some biscuits.....(that is not my strong suit....but we will see). My DP perked up and commented that he used to like the McDonalds...egg mc biscuit.....I can't believe my attempt is going to be compared to the clown.....and he will win.

Cyn I have three sets of furry things including Sadie in their prayers. I know how much they mean to us. I have been blessed to have Mickey the cat with me my twenties, thirties and now my forties! (If anyone has some unused pharamceuticals they can send me when he passes - it would be much appreciated. I will be a basket case.)

Tonight I cooked some lovely mushroom and vegetable dumplings that a friend brought over on Sunday. I pan fried them and then poured cold water in the pan and allowed them to continue to steam cook.

I then took some fresh wonton noodles, baby bok choy and snow peas and made a soup. I am entering a carb induced coma. Not to worry, the tennis season starts tonight and practice is from 8 to 10 p.m.!!!

Happy eating everyone
