I copied your recipe for brisket. Next major trip to the grocery I am going to pick one up and try it. Sounds wonderful and my sons would love it too.

That sounds wonderful. I have seen brisket at Sam's but I just didn't know what to do with it. Now I do. Can't wait. Anything served with mashed potatoes has to be good.

The low 80's here today, so I made semi-boned country pork ribs, slow cooked on the grill in bbq sauce, A1, beer & onions---mmm, baked beans, & egg, potato salad.
Happy eating everyone.

Mesquite smoked b-back ribs.

Don't know what I'd do w/out a smoker or grill..........would rather poke myself in the eye w/a hot piece of metal than go w/out them.

How about bump'n this up a notch by adding pix. I'll try to add pics of the ribs when done. Food p0rn.

C'mon, you live in Texas now, you'd BETTER know what to do with brisket!

It is on sale at one of my markets for $1.99 almost every week, it seems like.

Sometimes that is the untrimmed version and you have to remove a lot of fat before you cook it. It's still a fatty meat so you will have see a fair amount of "shrinkage" in cooking. The other thing you'll see in the store is if they are selling smaller pieces there is the "flat" cut and the "point" cut. One is supposed to be better, but both are fine. I don't remember which is better sorry. I think it's the point.

You can also throw brisket into the crock pot with about 1/2 c. of bbq sauce* and some sliced onion. That makes wonderful sandwiches on hamburger buns, topped with some raw sliced sweet onion, and with pickles on the side.
I cut the brisket into pieces before I put it in the pot and then one piece makes about one sandwich. (you can chop it up on a cutting board for a more traditional chopped brisket sandwich)

This is not as good as a smoked brisket sandwich from a bbq joint, but it's a heck of a lot easier!

* I am guessing on the bbq sauce amount because I am still a new crockpotter. Last time I did it I used way more sauce than that - like 1.5 or 2 cups because I didn't know how much liquid crockpotting creates!!
