I guess the name is misleading but here goes. You take a sandwich roll cut in half and put sliced deli turkey with grated cheese on top and broil. Then you take a mixture of refried beans with taco seasoning mixed in and put that on top. You top with lettuce, tomatoes and red onion. Then you smash an avocado, mix with green chilis and sour cream and use that as your condiment. It is pretty good and easy to make. I always make taco soup to go with it.
Wowza! I am glad that I asked.....it sounds wonderful.
Fall is just around the corner so I can switch over to comfort food step by step. I found a new recipe which I will try tonight:
7 oz Salami
14 oz other sausage (whatever you find in the fridge, you can also use leftover steak in small cubes or bratwurst cubes)
7 oz bacon in cubes
5 onions (not too small)
4 bell peppers
5 oz tomatoe paste (more if you like it)
5 pickled gerkins and some decoction of the gerkins
1 table spoon tabasco or 1 table spoon chili
1 bay leaf
some veggie or chicken broth
1 table spoon mustard
3 garlic cloves
sour cream
I think we are going to try the pork steaks on the BBQ tonight again....the last ones got fed to the dogs as I wasn't feeling well. I'll make some baked sweet potatoes, stewed apples and yes, fresh sliced tomatoes! Of course that is only if the weather stays good. It's only a 20% chance for rain but here you never know for sure!! It can be perfectly clear one hour and pouring rain the next hour. Makes life interesting!!
I don't know... I am going to be running around again today so I am looking for something EZ... it might just be one of my McPasta Nights (Prego) with some baked breaded chicken breasts and a salad... nothing gets much easier than that (beside take out)... oh, and I can't forget the Broc for the kids... they can't seem to eat a meal without it lately.
Elston - Everything about the sushi bar sounded divine. It must have been fun to hear DP converse in Japanese, too.
The sushi bar was really wonderful. If you are ever in Portland Maine look for "Yosaku" you won't be disappointed. We had a wonderful time and it was fun listening to my guy and the owner conversing. (I can pick out words here and there.)
Enjoy lacey! Sure hope you like it as much as we do!!
I actually cooked it for 40 min. covered and 40 min. uncovered---it just fell off the bones---finger lickin' good!
