It looks like cubed steaks tonight. I think I'll roast some red potatoes w/olive oil, garlic and onion powders - I have 3 I need to use before they go bad on me - and some leftover green beans as well as some home made baked beans. Oh, and sauteed onions, red peppers and 'shrooms w/the steaks. quick, easy, not much fuss.
Elston, I haven't had kugel since high school and my friend's mother made it. She called it noodle pudding and, silly shiska that I am, expected sweet stuff, but it was savory. I didn't like it then, but I bet I would now that my tastes have grown (along with the rest of me ).
We are having chicken w/ rice. I always add broccoli also and then when it is done top it with cheese
Sounds yummy... love cheese and rice w/ anything
We are goint to have a low key evening at our house... my kids are swimming at the inlaws and will most likely eat there... they will come home tired and ready for bed... once they are down hubby and I have appetizer night for dinner... nothing too heavy... but I was so disappointed on Thursday w/ the cruddy Italian Restaurant I missed my Greek place we go to... so I am doing a few tapas... tzatziki, baba, hummus, this eggplant spread, crispy bread, pita, veggies... feta... wine... i might make a greek salad we can split...should be a nice night on the deck... everyone keep your fingers crossed we have an easy time getting the kids to bed... Have a great night everyone...

We had cubed steak with green pepper, onion and bean sprouts in gravy over rice for "lunch".
Noodle pudding: LOL my mother had a similar experience with pizza......an Italian friend told her she would bring her slice of pizza pie.........this would have been back in the late 1920's when pizza was not part of American culture or cuisine......so she of course expected a slice of PIE....
Lux.shen kugel. (I don't know how to spell it but Luck.shun is the yiddish word for noodle.)
We are going to a BBQ and I am taking my requested Fried Green Beans
Mind sharing your fried green beans recipe with us????
