I always score the ham, press some brown sugar into the scores, imbed some cloves and bake it with my "secret ingredient" basting upon it. It comes out fabulous!! When it's done, I simply empty the marinade from the pan and put it into a gravy boat. Sometimes I also stab the ham with toothpicks with a bing cherry and slice of pineapple on each one and let the pineapple turn brown from the baking.
Maybe if I type it really small, word won't get out about the secret ingredient: grenadine
This sounds like the way My family cooked ham but without the grenadine. (Ooooooops, I wasn't supposed to let that out)
Well, it's only 94 degrees here in the sun, so I think I'll jump into the pool then sit under the outdoor ceiling fans in the shade and take a nap. I'm probably not going to want to do much cooking after that.
I had previously made and frozen meatballs and also have some mozzarella and shredded parmesean cheeses to use up, so I guess we'll have spaghetti and meatballs for dinner. I'd better go take a french bread out of the freezer for garlic bread, too.
