Hi

I am back from a very wonderful trip to Maine; filled with family events and house hunting. It all is going very well. I haven't cooked a real meal for over a week now. I returned home to the California home, that had been "tented" while we were away, so the gas was and is still off until today....so last night was rice cooker rice, hard boiled eggs (cooked in rice cooker along with the rice); Kim Chee pickle and microwaved seasoned Chic strips and beef strips pre packaged from the meat counter. By tonight we should have the gas back on and hot water to do dishes....????

I am planning that we will be out of this house at the end of the month.....so will be using up the larder and minimal shopping....and probably some pizza type suppers for awhile.

I missed you all; I did have some New England treats (lobster) while I was away. I won't have a chance to read all that went on while I was away. Be well and "bon appetit".

elston

Next few days I will be making easy to prepare stuff like mac and cheese etc...
When I read your post I felt his pain. Poor baby! Children mend very fast so that is a good thing but it doesn't make this whole experience any easier. Just cuddle him a lot and that does more then anything else. He will be in my prayers!

Tonight, I am having beef stew. It is supposed to be 71 here today, but when the storms hit, the temp is expected to fall fast so I thought stew would ward off the dampness and chill. Crock pot is my favorite friend lately.

I must tell you what I had last night. It was a treat in more ways than one!

My son and his girlfriend cooked dinner for us. He loves to cook and experiments with different variations of foods and recipes.

He chose chicken Alfredo with mushrooms, and green beans and salad. His girlfriend made the salad and it was wonderful, I don't know how she prepared the vinagrete dressing but it was spot on.

It was so very sweet of him to do this, but more importantly, it was a family gathering that blessed us in so many ways. We enjoyed the evening so much that it was 11 p m before they left and dh went to bed! Of course, I insisted that I clean the kitchen after they cooked such a delicious meal!

Hi all, thank you for the good thoughts. Little seems to be doing ok, except for walking around with his hand up in the air. Tonight I think I am going to try to make my own chicken nuggets. Little one can't hold a fork right now so finger food it is.
