I couldn't find a thread covering this but I could have missed it if there is one. Anyhow, I don't know about anyone else but I am so tired of just figuring out WHAT to make for dinner each night!! I get stuck making the same dishes and it's getting old fast!! Please help by giving us all some interesting and easy ideas!!!
I tend to get stuck in ruts too, especially when preparing weeknight meals that I want to take no more than 30 minutes to prep and cook! Tonight is homemade pizza, not sure yet if I will grill it or do it in the oven.
Well Monday night I made some of my good old spaghetti...lots of it. I put the extra sauce, and there was lots of extra sauce too and put it in those freezer containers. Each container had enough sauce for another meal---I ended up with 5 containers full! So now all I have to do is put the sauce in a microwave safe dish and warm it, cook up some noodles and whip up a salad with Garlic toast/bread and I have dinner!! I do the same with goulash. Both of these dinners always seems to taste better after a bit of time anyhow. So those are my quick ideas for a good quick dinner. But a person can only eat these "2" different dinners every so often!! It's not that I can't cook I'm just burnt out on figuring out "WHAT" to cook. And as many of us agree....the easier the better!!
I am having bagel pizzas for dinner. Typically I go to Kraftfoods.com and they have easy, quick, and really good recipies. I can ALWAYS find something on that website and about 99% of the recipies I have made are delicious!
I like bettycrocker.com, bhg.com (better homes and gardens), or Yahoo foods. Or my cookbooks. Usually there will be a little symbol stating "quick" or "low-fat", or whatever. I had leftover mashed potatoes yesterday and just mixed in cooked chicken, some spinach, and warmed it all up with low-sodium chicken broth. Chicken broth and cream of mushroom soup are both of my saving graces!
I also like this other recipe from betty crocker: cooked chicken with two cans of cream of mushroom, a little bit of sour cream, some mushrooms, and frozen brocooli all mixed up then put a crumbled bisquick mixture on top. Took about 25 minutes altogether. If you look on the website it'll say what to put in the bisquick mixture.
