Guess I'm making a corned beef, cabbage, carrots and potatoes tonight. Pretty simple as they can all cook in one pot. Course I don't add the cabbage until the last 1/2 hour of cooking. Hmmmm..wonder if I should bake it or just cook it in a pot on top of the stove. What do you think?????

Oh, Thank you! I've been meaning to take chicken out of my freezer for dinner now for two days and I keep forgetting until it's to late to thaw out---this post just reminded me. So that will be tomorrow nights dinner!!

Tonight we're having chicken breasts marinated in soy sauce first and then baked, mashed potatoes and corn. Guess it's obvious my husband and I are big mashed potatoe fans. Seems we eat them at least 2 nights a week. We love them!!

I get to go to a little French brasserie -- do I want mussels or steak frites?

I got the same dilemma...every day.
And, what's worse is...I work in the meat department and KNOW what we have....huh.
I started cooking with a lot of fresh herbs I grow myself.
It really does something to the senses, changes the taste, make it interesting to the eyes and takes the "boredom" out of the prepared meal.
They are right when they are saying, that the "eyes eat too".....and it couldn't be more true.
I also started cooking more with wines.....which turns out absolutely stunning in taste.
I swear, if you take regular dishes you are used to, and add some "snazzy" and colorful "pizazz" to it, it changes everything! (If I can do it, you can...because I am not really that good of a cook....but I am learning and advancing...lol)

I am just getting ready to start the Potato Soup and we will make a pseudo gourmet sandwich of some sort to go with it.
