Don't click this Youtube link if you are easily grossed out. However, if you can stand watching someone eating raw.... ie. Living grubs the size of a man's finger and eating ants, you will be OK. 'cuz that is totally what this video is. People surviving on what they can scrounge up. Incidentally, the grubs are considered women and children food. Men rarely eat them.

Food of the future? Food of the past too. For the vast majority of our history they were part of our diet, and are still part of people's diet in some parts of the world. Go to Thailand and try a deep fried cricket, tastes just like potato chips!

I was cooking broccoli rabe tonight when I noticed a green bug in the pan, I picked it up to make sure and when I saw legs and tentacles I skeeved and threw out the vegetable. Gross!!! I will not be eating broccoli rabe any time soon. The bug was the size of a dime.

I can see that. I don't think I have a problem with that. I already eat ants. the past few mornings when I poured my cereal into a bowl I found a few crawling out from under some of the flakes. I imagine there are a lot more in there. They're the tiny black ones that are nearly the size of periods. I don't even taste a thing.

lubby, I've never heard of an insect that had both legs and tentacles. I wonder what it was.

Here's the good news: If you see bugs in your vegetables it could mean less intensive pesticides used on them. If the bugs'll eat it, being they're that much closer to the food system, you certainly can too.
